New Bike Lane Concept

Houston and many other cities have discovered that greenways along creeks and bayous are an option for pedestrians, runners, and cyclists.

The Woodlands has pathways already located along drainage ways. In addition, residents frequently use other drainage ways as alternative routes for hiking, running, and even off-road cycling. Though not currently approved for such activities by land owners, these locations offer an option for safe, separated routes for consideration in future planning for people on foot and people on bikes.

A Bike The Woodlands Coalition member has developed a new concept plan for lanes located near Panther Branch and Bear Branch Creeks that span much of the community – east and west – north and south. The proposal addresses many of the questions that arise, and includes relevant examples found already in The Woodlands.
